CEO of Digital Hub Denmark has decided to resign

After years of dedicated commitment, Camilla Rygaard-Hjalsted is leaving the Hub to take on the next step forward.

Since its inauguration in 2018, Camilla Rygaard-Hjalsted has been the CEO of Digital Hub Denmark. Camilla Rygaard-Hjalsted has now decided to resign, and the chairman would like to take this moment to thank Camilla Rygaard-Hjalsted for her great work in the early, formative years of the hub.

”It has been exciting to witness the journey from early political ideas to the execution of several significant initiatives, such as the opening the new, large delegation center in Copenhagen, and the huge effort to attract the highly sought-after international tech talents, tech investors and customers to Denmark. Especially the establishment of the digital delegation center, which opened last year, is remarkable, and we are all thrilled to see this space come to life again with delegations, physically as well as digitally,” says chairman of Digital Hub Denmark, Per Kogut.

Camilla Rygaard-Hjalsted would like to thank both the chairman, Per Kogut, and the owners behind the hub: The Ministry of Industry, Business & Financial Affairs, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Ministry of Higher Education & Science, The Confederation of Danish Industry, The Danish Chamber of Commerce, and Finance Denmark for the cooperation over the past years.

At the same time, she would like to thank her team, whose tireless SoMe work brands Denmark as a leading tech nation, and who has gathered and branded the fastest-growing digital startups and scaleups in Denmark.

”As the hub enters a new phase as a marketing consortium for the digital space, the timing is now right for me to resign. I leave behind an organisation fully capable to take on the next step forward”, says Camilla.

The chairman, along with the rest of the board, will now begin the search for a suitable candidate. Until then, Nicolaj Christensen will take over as Interim CEO and oversee the daily operations together with the rest of the very capable team.

Nicolaj Christensen has been with Digital Hub Denmark since April 2019 as part of the management team and has led several of the hub’s flagship projects. Nicolaj Christiensen has been part of the growth at several startups, most notably Peakon, and was CMO at TechBBQ, the largest tech conference in Scandinavia.

“I am looking forward to continue the good corporation with both the owners and supporting partners like The Industrial Foundation," says Nicolaj Christensen.

We thank Camilla for her dedicated commitment and wish her all the best in her future endeavors. Camilla’s last day at Digital Hub Denmark will be March 16, 2022.
