A new report from Digital Hub Denmark reveals a trend for the country's digital sector: Denmark is experiencing a sharp decline in its ability to attract and retain digital talent. This development challenges Danish businesses and threatens the nation’s competitiveness, as digital experts are crucial for driving innovation and growth.

A new study from Boston Consulting Group and Digital Hub Denmark shows that digital talents in Denmark are the happiest. The report ’2020 Digital Talent Global Work Happiness Index’ concludes that Denmark takes first place in Europe and third place globally.

While the number of talents specialising in tech and digitalisation has grown by 14% from 2016-2019, the amount of international tech talents in Denmark has risen to a staggering 48%.Despite the increase in numbers, a new study from HBS Economics for Digital Hub Denmark shows that one in four Danish businesses still need digital experts to meet their increasing tech needs.

A new survey from Digital Hub Denmark shows that the need for digital talent among Danish companies has significantly increased since the spring of 2020. As of Q2 2021, the Danish demand for digital talent is 24 per cent higher than before the pandemic.

In a 2022 survey conducted by Digital Hub Denmark and HBS Economic, we see an increase of 12% in digital talent on the job market since 2019. There has equally been slight increases in both the amount of female digital talent, international talents, and the talent pool in general from 2021 to 2022.

The number of digital talents in Denmark grew by 19% over the last three years, but struggles persist in retaining female and foreign digital talent. The employment status of a digital specialist's partner, particularly foreign partners, significantly influences their decision to remain in the country, underscoring the need to facilitate foreign partner integration into the job market.
