Digital Hub Denmark, in partnership with Social Innovation Alliance (SIA), announces a collaboration focused on sharing Denmark's world-leading expertise in digitalisation, to inspire and support transformative developments in Japan's government and public administration.
Denmark has established itself as a global pioneer in creating seamless, digital-first societies, renowned for its efficient e-government systems and advanced digital ID solutions. The partnership between Digital Hub Denmark and SIA, an organisation fostering sustainable and digital societal development through Japan-Denmark collaboration, will serve as a platform to showcase Denmark’s unique strengths and exchange best practices with Japanese governmental organisations seeking sustainable and digitally transformative solutions.
A key goal of the partnership is to strengthen collaboration between Danish and Japanese institutions, particularly in addressing Japan’s growing need for innovative solutions to modernise public services. By leveraging Danish experience in digital public sector transformation, the collaboration aims to deliver impactful and sustainable solutions that enhance efficiency and citizen-centric experience.
"This partnership underscores Denmark’s position as a trusted partner in digitalisation, especially in the public sector," said Nicolaj Geller Christensen, CEO of Digital Hub Denmark. "Through this initiative, we aim to facilitate knowledge exchange and help drive digital transformation within Japan’s public sector by highlighting Denmark’s proven expertise."
Denmark’s public sector digital solutions have been instrumental in driving citizen engagement and efficient governance, which are testaments to its digital-first and democratic approach.
By collaborating on initiatives like Japan’s "Front Yard Reform"—which aims to modernise local government services and improve citizen engagement through digital channels—Danish and Japanese organisations can exchange experiences in shaping more digitally advanced and competitive societies.
"By fostering cross-border collaborations, we aim to create long-term value not only for Denmark and Japan but for the global community," Christensen adds. "This initiative reflects our commitment to building smarter and more sustainable digital ecosystems."
